Julian Focareta is an accomplished Director of Photography based in Connecticut, renowned for his expertise in a wide range of fields, including commercial, documentary, and tabletop cinematography. He works from NY to Boston, as well as travels wherever the work may bring him.
Julian is a first-generation born Italian and descends from a long line of peasant farmers. He takes pride in his Italian descent and continues to embrace it in his free time by continuing many traditions such as making wine, sausage, capricola, and jarred tomatoes. Over the last few years, he has gained a huge interest in sustainability and local ecosystems. This has led to his decision to hopefully use his craft to help gain awareness and bring communities together to live in a eco-friendly manner.
Julian's passion for food and product cinematography led him to specialize in tabletop cinematography, where he has created stunning visuals for numerous commercials and advertisements for renowned brands.
In addition to his proficiency in commercial work, Julian has also showcased his talent in small and long-form documentary pieces. Through these different types of projects he has demonstrated his ability to combine a high-end commercial value with a run-and-gun capture method. Julian is a graduate of Fairfield University's Film program, where he developed a strong foundation in film theory that he applies to his craft.
Julian has a keen eye for motion and light, and his innovative approach has enabled him to push the boundaries of cinematography on numerous projects, capturing the vision of his clients and productions with stunning results.
